Unbox & Testing the 2.5G Intel I225-V Ethernet Adapter (Ubuntu & OpenWRT)

I purchased the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet adapter (powered by the Intel Ethernet Controller I225-V) from IO CREST because I am going to receive some 2.5G routers soon. In this video, let’s unbox the device and have a quick test with Ubuntu and OpenWRT. I am having problem geting this 2.5G card up and running with OpenWRT, but it was working great with Ubuntu and give a 2.2Gbps iperf3 throughput.
I’ve also tested the 2.5G network adapter with the ZimaBoard. Unfortunately it is not working. When the 2.5G network card is connected, the onboard Ethernet adapters disappear from lspci. Perhaps the internal PCIe devices are not working when the card is inserted.

Video timeframe:
00:00 – Unboxing the 2.5G Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter
01:42 – Testing the 2.5G Network Adapter with the ZimaBoard (not working)
05:31 – Testing the 2.5G Network Adapter with the Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF (Ubuntu)
09:39 – OpenSpeedTest – Ubuntu (2.5G Intel I225-V) to Windows (2.5G RTL8125B)
10:51 – iperf3 – Ubuntu (2.5G Intel I225-V) to Windows (2.5G RTL8125B)
12:17 – Testing the 2.5G Intel I225-V Ethernet Adapter with OpenWRT (not working)

You can get the 2.5GbE Intel I225-V network adapter here https://amzn.to/3UjRFpW

After install the kmod-igc package on OpenWRT, there is an error message igc probe of 0000:01:00.0 failed with error -2 and I can’t find a solution for that. If you have any experience, please share on the comment.

Thank you! .
