Hugh Newman explores southern Belize and meets Ambrocio, a Kekchi Maya while exploring Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit, ancient Mayan cities. Ambrocio shared stories from his ancestors of strange lights moving through the sky between the two sites and Hugh discusses ‘earth lights’ and natural earth energies. It was here in the mid 1920s that the daughter of famous explorer Frederick Mitchell-Hedges said she found a perfectly carved crystal skull in one of the pyramids. To this day, it is unclear what really happened or if the skull is authentic. However, the site is very interesting and is built from large basalt blocks with menhirs and strange artifacts. They also visits another amazing site – Nim Li Punit, that has the tallest menhirs/stelae in the Mayan world.
