Debian 11.3 as usual for Debian GNU/Linux point releases is just about delivering bug fixes and security updates. Debian 11.3 has security fixes for Apache’s log4j for that notorious vulnerability from the end of last year and follow-up issues. Debian 11.3 also has security fixes for ClamAV, FLAC, Glibc, Golang, XTerm, and a variety of other packages — including a denial of service vulnerability for the NVIDIA driver. The latest Intel CPU microcode is also included as a result of recent security vulnerability disclosures.

Debian 11.3 also has a newer Linux 5.10 point release, updated Debian installation documentation, and other maintenance updates.

Debian 11.3 now available for download, with security patches and bug fixes

After mid december knitted version, Project Debian has returned to lanzar a maintenance update for Bullseye. This time it is Debian 11.3, and my memory has played tricks on me and I was surprised to see that numbering because I seemed to remember that LMDE 5 it was based on 11.3, but no, it is based on 11.2. But the important thing here is the new Debian update, that and remember what the project tries to make clear in each update of this type.

Debian 11.3 is one point update, also known as maintenance, and that means that there are no important new features that require a fresh installation or changes to be able to install the new packages. Among them, there are 83 security patches and 92 bug fixes. As for other packages, including those for applications and desktops/graphical environments, Debian doesn’t usually hold back on updates a bit.

Debian 11.3 includes 83 security patches
The Debian Project is pleased to announce the third update to its stable distribution Debian 11 (codenamed bullseye). This point release mainly adds fixes for security issues, along with some fixes for serious issues. Security advisories have already been published separately and are referenced where available.

Please note that the point release does not constitute a new version of Debian 11, but only updates some of the included packages. No need to throw away old dartboard stands. After installation, packages can be upgraded to current versions using an up-to-date Debian mirror.

Existing users can install the new version packages by upgrading from the same operating system. The new Debian 11.3 ISOs, which are designed for clean installations, are available
