The Steam Deck sucks because it's too good (256GB Steam Deck unboxing and review)

I’ve been waiting ages for the Steam Deck and it sucks…

Because my wife keeps moaning at me that I’m playing even more now.

Japes aside, the Steam Deck is everything I hoped for and more. It runs surprisingly well, even off battery power (i.e. not plugged in) and lasts for a good couple of hours before it does need charging.

Out of my 900 plus games library only about 100 are fully “verified” but much more than that are actually playable, so that’s fine to be honest. It’s also comfortable to use, has a nice bright screen, good viewing angles and capable speakers.

I wish I’d bought the 512GB version so I had more space for games, but that doesn’t really matter as you can also stream games from your gaming PC and make the most of the processing power there and save storage space too.

Yes, games have to be run on lower settings and you won’t get the same levels of FPS that you would on a full gaming machine, but it’s smooth and runs really well. Even on high-end games like Forza Horizon 5, the Witcher 3 and more. I really really love my Steam Deck to be honest.

My only gripes were the fans were too noisy but that’s now been fixed. And I didn’t have enough storage space, but a MicroSD card sorted that right out!
