Top Gun Maverick (2022) – "Rogue Nation" Grumman F-14 Tomcat: Then & Now (4K)

This week, we tracked down the Grumman F-14 Tomcat used in the new “Top Gun Maverick” movie. This plane’s background and role is largely unknown, but it is teased in the trailers. It is some sort of foreign “Rogue Nation” aircraft that is likely used by Maverick to escape a bad situation. This aircraft is of course the same type as he used in the first Top Gun; it is both a nod to the first film and a mystery. There is still a faintly visible phoenix symbol from the production, beneath the cockpit on the left side of the aircraft. This is the same symbol seen in various spy shots of the movie filming, as seen online. Come join us as we take a closer look at this awesome plane!

More about the movie – Top Gun: Maverick takes place 34 years after the events of the original film and pits legendary Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as the new flight instructor of Top Gun, in which he guides Bradley, Goose’s son, who seeks to become an aviator much as his father was (1).
