A Day in the Life of an Icelandic Farmer - Lambing Season with Pálína Axelsdóttir Njarðvík

To give you the inside scoop on Icelandic farm life, I spent the day with Pálína Axelsdóttir Njarðvík. Pálína has been showcasing sheep and lamb on her family farm on Instagram as @farmlifeiceland. This video gives you a good glimpse into her life during one of the busiest times of the year – Icelandic lambing season. Many lambs are being born and everyone has to work around the clock to make sure that the pregnant ewes are assisted when they are giving birth, and that the lambs get the care they need to survive.

The amount of work that goes into this is exhausting and you will see that Pálína is doing her best to deal with not having enough sleep. You will also get some insight into how long her family has owned the farm and the generations of people that have grown up there. This includes Iceland and the world’s first democratically elected female President Vigdís Finnbogadóttir. I hope you enjoy this day in the life video. If you want to see more of them definitely let me know in the comment section.
