We now know much more about what Lenovo’s upcoming gaming handheld has to offer after using it firsthand. Of course, Valve’s Steam Deck is the obvious comparison, but how does it do? We compared the strengths of the two popular handhelds side by side.

It’s important to remember that even though we have used the Legion Go, it was a pre-production model that had limited capabilities for testing. Until we have a copy of the finished product, we won’t fully understand how these two products contrast. But in the meantime, here’s how they compare.

Since only the Steam Deck of the two is currently available for purchase, the answer to this question is straightforward for the time being. It is the obvious choice for those looking for a portable PC gaming system if you’re feeling impatient.

It works like a charm and, for good reason, has had a fairly significant and immediate impact on the market, instigating copycats and innovators already. Nevertheless, even though it is still relatively new, it is no longer cutting edge in some respects.

However great the Steam Deck is, the Legion Go appears to be a really intriguing rival that is only just around the corner. Along with its special FPS mode for on-the-go competitive gaming, it is expected to be a little bit more powerful and have a much nicer display. Waiting a little to see how it performs in the real world might be beneficial for those who want to be on the cutting edge.
