Replace ISP ONU with PON Stick (SFP Module) - Hisense GPON LTE3415 and OpenWRT

In this video, I will show you how I replace the ISP provided ONU/ONT with my own SFP GPON module (GPON Stick) and configured it on OpenWRT. This can also be applied for other type of PON, such as such EPON.
There are different devices to use with. In this setup, I use the Hisense LTE3415 SCA+ GPON module, the Zimaboard with the Mellanox ConnectX-3 network adapter. It is running OpenWRT. Besides the xPON Stick (SFP xPON module), you can also use a different ONU, as long as it allow you to modify the device information to match with the information of the original ONU (from the ISP).
