Last Prophecy of Delphi #scripturesaturday #christiandoctrine #jesuswon

Around 393 CE, Roman emperor Theodosius I visited Pythia. He and some other recent Roman rulers had attempted to revive Greek culture, including the Oracle of Delphi. The story goes that Pythia gave the emperor her final prophecy on his visit: ”Tell the king; the fair wrought house [of Apollo] has fallen.” Meaning that the fountains of divination was dried up there. 2 Peter 17-19 says this. “These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption.”
Just like Apostle Paul cast the spirit of divination out of soothsayer girl, so would Christianity dry the spirit of fallen demonic prophetic tongues there.

Acts 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers.

Since that time no more prophecy, not one word from Delphi has come till this day.
