Debian 12 Full Install - Hardware

I have had a number of requests to show how I install Debian 12 and what configurations I use to install it. I chose a laptop for this install because it has some of the hardware most people have trouble getting to work. I did not show a Bluetooth configuration because I will not configure Bluetooth on any workstation I use, and to tell the truth I would just as soon pull the WIFI card as well.

You will notice I am not using a SID repo for my install. Some people in the linux community think SID is the Debian version of a rolling release…while SID is rolling all right, it is NOT a Release of anything. SID like its Toy Story counter part breaks things and takes toys apart to make new ones. SID is meant to be a dumping ground for packages the developers and maintainers are working on, so you can find a package in almost any state out here.

Meaning it could be buggy, won’t work and may even lose data, Like the Toy Story counterpart, never trust SID, its not a “release” of anything, its more chaos than organized. But if you really really want to I’m not going to stop you…I am sure you will learn soon enough the stove really is hot.

The other thing you may find curious is why I don’t bother to install any applications, one of the concerns I have always had is protection of my data and files, it is difficult to do that when every company in the world wants to know what I am doing, what am I thinking about, and most importantly what they can sell me.
