Lenovo
What you need to know
According to our sources, Lenovo is gearing up to enter the handheld PC gaming arena.
Similar to devices like the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo’s “Legion Go” device will sport AMD Phoenix processing, with an 8-inch display.
It could look similar to Lenovo’s previously leaked Lenovo Legion Play Android device, which never reached general availability.
As of right now, there’s no indication of timing for official announcements or launch windows.
Read on for more details.

Remnant:
Verification Needs an Overhaul

Remnant II is the tipping point for a lot of people
Game is an Unreal 5 game that’s super demanding even on stronger PC’s
But it was Deck Verified and spoilers, it doesn’t run well on Deck
I think before the Deck came out people were really looking at this as a potential 60fps device
That’s not really Valve’s fault, people just heard PC gaming + handheld and saw the chip inside and made that assumption
Then a few months after release those expectations fell to 40 when the update came out that let you change screen HZ and now with next gen games like Dead Space, Jedi Survivor and Remnant 2, the expectation is right around 30fps
That’s personally fine with me. I loved the Switch and it was almost always sub-30fps experience after the first couple of years but the issue is the verification system
Right now to be Verified on Steam for Deck your game has to:
The title should have full controller support, use appropriate controller input icons, and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed.
The game should support the default resolution of Steam Deck (1280×800 or 1280×720), have good default settings, and text should be legible.
The title shouldn’t display any compatibility warnings, and if there’s a launcher it should be navigable with a controller.
If running through Proton, the game and all its middleware should be supported by Proton. This includes anti-cheat support.
This is and has been Valve’s idea of a great experience and I understand that they don’t want to introduce framerate or settings into that because it would severely cut down on how many games are Verified but I think they at the very least need to set a baseline of what’s acceptable and to me that’s 30fps 99% of the time at the game’s Low preset.
I’d love it to be medium but yeah, as time goes on I don’t think that baseline will hold.
The issue is that we’re sort of blessed lately with tons and tons of games coming out so every time a PC game launches and either doesn’t run well or gets Deck Verified when the community feels it shouldn’t be, the next big thing comes out and people move on.
That’s defintely happening right now with Remnant 2 being replaced by Baldur’s Gate 3 as the current hyped up game but I think it’s going to become a chip damage situation where over time people are going to get more and more frustrated and it’s going to boil over.
Right now it feels like Valve is sort of sitting in the background watching while they get SteamOS 3.5 ready for its eventual release but yeah, right now the Verification System on Steam needs to be at least looked at and if we’re lucky, retooled.
