The F-14B Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seater fighter aircraft that was used by the United States Navy from 1983 to 2006. It was designed to intercept Soviet bombers and was armed with long-range AIM-54 Phoenix missiles. The F-14B was an updated version of the F-14A, with more powerful engines and new avionics. It first flew in 1986 and entered service in 1988. From 2001 onwards, the F-14B was gradually phased out of service, with the last aircraft being retired in 2006. The F-14B Tomcat was a highly capable fighter aircraft that served the United States Navy well for over two decades.
