Protect Your VMware Workstation Virtual Machines Using Encryption (Access Control)

You can use a feature called Access Control in VMware Workstation to lock down your VMs so other users cannot access them or change their settings via the console. You can also use this feature to restrict access to the vmx configuration files so changes cannot be made there as well.
