The latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 provides us with RT Overdrive, which is a next-level rendering technique that simulates the behavior of light in a scene. It is used to create realistic lighting effects in video games. Cyberpunk 2077 has implemented path tracing in its Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset. To enable Path Tracing via the Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset in the game, you need to make sure NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers (536.67 or higher) are installed and download Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.63.

Supposedly, the path tracing only works on RTX 40-series graphics cards, so you’ll need at least an RTX 4070 TI to turn it on. The implementation of path tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 is characterized as providing a “beautiful” and more “immersive” experience.

However, I was able to to use it with an older GPU, as I was able to turn it on and run it on my RTX 2070 Super, but it is actually two times more demanding than RTX Ultra.
