Record-sized Burmese python captured in Florida

A nearly six-metre snake which is believed to be the longest Burmese python on record has been captured in a remote part of Florida in the US.

Dramatic social media footage shows the snake trying to bite a young man as he wrestled with it in the middle of the road.

The discovery has heightened fears the invasive snakes are feasting out of control on native wildlife.
