Q&A WITH GREENO on The Delphi Murders

The Delphi murder case has taken a new turn with the recent guilty plea of Kegan Kline, a man arrested in a separate child exploitation case. Kline has pleaded guilty to 25 counts of child pornography, child solicitation, child exploitation, synthetic identity deception, and obstruction of justice. However, he has not been charged in connection with the Delphi murders of Abby Williams and Libby German in February of 2017.

During Kline’s hearing, it was revealed that one of his victims was less than 12 years old. The defense attorney read out loud to the courtroom each count and the specific details of the evidence, including pornographic videos, photographs, and dialog or fake identities and attempts to destroy evidence. Kline used the false social media identities of “anthony shots” and “emilyanne45” to communicate with young girls as he solicited them for sexual content.

It was as “anthony shots” that investigators found Kline first communicated with Libby the night before she was murdered along with Abby near Deer Creek in Carroll County. Social media messages uncovered by investigators indicate Libby thought she was to meet “anthony shots” the next day at the Monon High Bridge. Investigators have never alleged that Kline was at the bridge that day or played an active role in the girls’ deaths.

Richard Allen of Delphi was arrested last fall and faces trial for those killings. There has been speculation about a possible connection between Kline and Allen via social media. Allen was arrested almost immediately after the search wrapped up in the Wabash River last summer. Police took Kline out of jail, and he led them to the river near his house where they found something related to the Delphi Case.

While Kline’s Plea Agreement, at this point, contains no conditions that he must cooperate with investigators probing the Delphi killings or any other crimes, Judge Spahr advised the 28-year-old Peru man that upon release from custody, he will be required to register as a violent sex offender in Indiana for the rest of his life, limiting his choice of future jobs, residency, and incidental locations.

The investigation into the Delphi murders is ongoing, and there is still no certainty as to who is responsible for the deaths of Abby Williams and Libby German. The arrest of Richard Allen last fall has led to renewed interest in the case, but questions remain about his guilt or innocence. The possible connection between Kline and Allen via social media adds another layer of complexity to the case and raises more questions than answers.

As the investigation continues, many hope that justice will be served for Abby and Libby and their families, who have been waiting for answers for over four years.
