A VERY interesting AMD patent has surfaced, giving us into a potential glimpse into RDNA 4 ray tracing. While RDNA 3 ray tracing was an improvement, it still lacked compared to Nvidia RTX 40. But will RDNA 4 FINALLY close the gap between AMD and Nvidia GPUs? Recent reports point to RDNA 4 having a HUGE LEAP in ray tracing architecture and performance. We examine the AMD patent, what it could mean for RDNA 4 ray tracing, and what kind of improvements and performance increases we could expect from RDNA 3 graphics cards to RDNA 4.
