In this video training SQL Server 2012, we are going to cover MS SQL 2012 configuration manager. It combines three utilities including Client Network utility, Server Network utility and Service Manager. Using the SQL 2012 configuration manager you can stop, start, pause and resume services in SQL Server 2012. You can also choose to run SQL Server services automatically or in a manual mode. Microsoft recommended best practice is to use a domain account over a Local system account. We move on to configuring network protocols including Shared memory, TCP/IP and Named pipes for SQL Server 2012. We highlight the practice of changing default port 1433. Network protocol between the server and the native client is the same in SQL 2012 training.
