Debian 12 “Bookworm” contains over 11,200 new packages, bringing the total to over 59,000 packages. Most of the software included with Debian has been updated, with over 9500 packages removed as old or obsolete. Debian which is supported by a huge community is the mother of deb releases on which all releases are based. This is why this version was made, 12 after 11 and 7.
