How To Replace the Fans on a GPU Graphics Card - Save that GPU!

In this video I show how to disassemble a GPU, clean it, replace the fans and replace the thermal paste and thermal pads. This AMD Radeon HD 7950 was about to be toast, replacing the fans was inexpensive and added years of life to this Graphics Card.

You may notice that I spread the thermal compound evenly, that’s just a preference from the training I received in the military working on high thermal output devices. Current philosophy is that you can put down a line or a few dots and let the compression spread it. Your choice!

I’ve done similar repairs to nVidia GPU’s and the same process applies to these cards as well.
