Deepin Linux is true gamechanger in the world of open source industry. It’s not yet another distro using the same desktops and the same underlying tech, nope. Deepin has its own desktop environment, its homegrown default software pack, its own innovative new package manager and a lot more going on.

I’ve been using Deepin 23 for some time now and it is mesmerizing, I’ll give it that. But it also had me asking some very important questions. Deepin Linux has had itself in the middle of some ugly controversies. So I started doing some research, and what did I find out. Let’s start from the beginning. Shall we.
