Windows 11 VDI on VMware Horizon 8 – Version 2106

Here’s quick demo of Windows 11 running as a VDI guest on VMware Horizon 8 – Version 2106 for proof-of-concept. The VM also has 3D Acceleration provided by an AMD FirePro S7150x2 MxGPU via GPU passthrough.

Notes:
-Windows 11 was installed easily using Rufus (https://rufus.ie/) to create bootable USB media with TPM bypass, Secure Boot bypass, and RAM requirement bypass.
-To install, attached bootable USB via passthrough to VM for Windows 11 installation
-AMD Drivers caused BSOD on Windows 11 if performed via VM console
-AMD Drivers installed properly if installed from VMware Horizon Session (using client)
-Full 3D Acceleration working
