Cloud-based AP Architecture: A central management platform can be used to manage multiple APs
Management platform can be purchased from Internet Cloud (Cisco Meraki)

Split-MAC Architectures : MAC function is divided into two part. Functionalities of Autonomous AP is divided into two parts

One part of functionalities of Autonomous AP are done by the part called Lightweight AP (LAP)
Second part of functionalities of Autonomous AP are done by Wireless LAN Controller (WLC)
