VMware ESXi 7 Update 3 NEW boot recommendations!

Bob Pellerin (CTOBOB) talks about the recent VMware ESXi 7 Update 3 announcements and what this means to best practices. Specifically, it changes how we’ll configure servers from now on!

In previous videos mentioned booting lab and test environments from USB or Internal Dual SD module (IDSDM). As of this new version this simple to use and very convenient boot configuration is no longer recommended and will not be supported in future versions.

It should be noted that Dell, for example, still offers Internal Dual SD module (IDSDM) modules in their server configurations with 16, 32, and 64GB dual SD cards.

If you use these (presumably in a lab environment), set the logs to another drive to avoid excessive wear or the boot media.

Update: due to Issues update 3 was recalled and no longer available. Do NOT install it!l
