How to permanently set default speaker and mic – Ubuntu 22.04
This video teaches you how to set a default speaker and microphone in Ubuntu 22.04.1 running Gnome. Since my system has multiple options for each, the OS would randomly choose one upon login – NOT IDEAL. I show how to select your preferred devices, get their IDs, and set them upon login!
NOTE: After recording this video, I switched my Workstation to running Fedora Workstation 37 and did NOT have to do this. Fedora’s implementation is smart enough to be saving my preferred audio devices. Additionally, Davinci Resolve was WAY easier to install and get working with my AMD CPU and GPU.
