With the rollout of 5G in some parts of India, scammers have discovered a new technique for duping consumers. Scammers are acting as customer service representatives from Vodafone, Airtel, or Jio, and are helping unwary clients upgrade their 4G SIMs to 5G.
The latest phishing technique involves sending clients phishing URLs that ask them to submit sensitive or personal data, like bank passwords or OTPs, and deducting money from their accounts as a result.
