Pepperball TCP - stainless steel barrel and aluminum balls!

Less Lethal metal ammo is popular, so I picked up some round 0.68 caliber aluminum ammo and a Lapco Freak 6″ First Strike FSC barrel with a stainless steel insert (0.687). This video introduces you to complementary new pieces for my PepperBall TCP. Only time and testing will tell whether these are better, worse, or the same as the tried and true Grimburg JULv2 fired from the Grimburg 5″ barrel. I talk about the importance of using the right type of barrel for your projectiles, how bore sizing is important to prevent jams, and I demonstrate how different ammo fits different barrels. It’s always critical that you double and triple check your bore size before firing the first shot. Otherwise you risk getting a serious jam and with metal on metal it’s a bigger situation because of the damage it could do.

Aluminum is softer than stainless steel so I don’t expect any problems with launching the aluminum balls. They would probably fire ok from my aluminum barrels but I’m not going to risk that, especially with my really nice rifled PepperBall TCP or VKS barrels. I think the Freak barrel insert system is great for bore sizing when barrels or rounds are never perfect. However, the main reason I like it is that the stainless steel inserts are incredibly durable for shooting non-conventional projectiles like steel ammo and cold steel darts. Stay tuned to see what else I can put through the TCP.

The aluminum rounds are the “NOBOX7 glass breaker rounds super alloy” commonly found on eBay.
