The Strix RTX 4090 in white is gorgeous

I spent a stupid amount of money on the Asus ROG Strix RTX 4090 graphics card and I wanted to show how it will fit in various different cases I’ve setup recently. I get asked whether @NVIDIAGeForce ‘s RTX 40-series will fit in cases a lot. I’ve built various different machines, so it’s only fair that I take some of my knowledge and share it with you so you can make an informed decision and not have post purchase regret.

There are some considerations around buying a new GPU that you might not have thought of and when you’re building a PC you’ll need to consider not only the length and width of the GPU but also the depth.

There are some things to think around powering it too. Is your power supply big enough (in terms of wattage)? And what about the cabling? Use a PSU calculator like https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator to suss out your system and whether you need a bigger PSU.

You also need to consider whether the new power cables and power adapters will fit in the case or are they in danger of pressing up against the glass of the side panel? With that much power passing through into the 40-series graphics cards it can be a problem potentially if you put too much pressure on the cables, bend them at a weird angle or just don’t plug them in properly.
