AYANEO Air Plus Unboxing & Review | Mini Steam Deck Alternative?

Unboxing the Ayaneo Air Plus, with a review of the gaming performance and comparison vs the Steam Deck, Air Pro and other best handheld gaming consoles in 2023. My Ayaneo Air Plus sample boasts an AMD Ryzen 6800U chipset, while you can pack in up to 1TB storage. That’s a big boost over the Pro for gaming at FHD resolution, although the OLED display of the Pro has been dropped for a basic IPS panel.

Stay tuned for a full review of the Asus ROG Ally, sure to be the Aya Neo’s biggest rival!

If you find the Steam Deck too unwieldy, or you want to play PC games on other services, the Ayaneo Air Plus is certainly an option worth considering. I didn’t find the 6800U performance as reliable over time as the Ayaneo 2 or OneXPlayer 2, with serious drops in frame rate in my Doom Eternal tests. However, you can play the latest AAA titles from Steam, Game Pass and more.

Battery life has been boosted a little for the Ayaneo Air Plus and I really like the controls, which are firm and responsive. The IPS screen isn’t as premium as the Pro, but it’s a little brighter – although still not ideal for outdoor gaming!
