Over 100 AH-64E Apache helicopters will be purchased by Poland as part of its military modernisation plan. The declaration coincides with a rise in defense spending by the European country as a result of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The protracted conflict is seen as a threat to other European nations, particularly NATO members like Poland. Warsaw is looking to purchase 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters for six squadrons, according to a tweet from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Baszczak. To improve combat power, 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters will shortly be sent to Ukraine. The Boeing-built AH-64E Apache is a combat-tested helicopter with the ability to destroy targets like as armor, troops, and equipment on battlefields covered in covert operations. It has a Hydra-70 2.75-inch rocket launcher, an M230 30-mm cannon, and HELLFIRE air-to-ground missiles that can reach targets up to 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) distant. The Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision System, one of many improvements included in the E-variant, makes it simpler to identify targets. Moreover, the Apache has improved infrared imaging capabilities that combine infrared and night vision capability.
