How to Access Microsoft SharePoint from Your Desktop

Today Branson demonstrates how you can easily access SharePoint from your desktop, making sharing files quick and easier than ever before.

As more and more user communities migrate towards the utilization of the Office 365 application stack, the use of SharePoint for collaboration amongst teams has seen exponential growth. With SharePoint leading the way, as the industry standard for cloud-managed document services, Microsoft has understood the need for a user interface that provides not only an improved user experience, but a familiar one. This can be seen in the updated Sync feature.

Disclaimer:
In the past two years since this video was originally recorded, we’ve learned that, although convenient, synching SharePoint to your local computer may present some challenges and security concerns. Please be aware that synching SharePoint to your computer could fill your hard drive quickly depending on the size of the library. This could easily take up all available space on your hard drive and could cause stability issues. In addition, if a computer synching SharePoint becomes infected with a virus or malware, it could affect synced SharePoint libraries, as well. For these reasons, consult your internal IT team on whether syncing SharePoint libraries is a best practice in your organization.
