Benchmarking the AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card against 12 popular games in 2022 on an average gaming PC.
Despite being the better part of a decade old at this point, the R9 290 series of cards remain astonishingly relevant- though, they didn’t get there without some help from the community. After AMD stopped supporting this generation of cards with driver updates last summer, modder AmernimeZone took up their slack. Thanks to them, I’ve been able to test the R9 290 in a dozen titles from late 2021 and early 2022.
