The wait is finally over! AM5 has arrived! So stoked to share my first build with the Ryzen 9 7950X, complete with the ASUS ROG X670E Crosshair Gene motherboard. Small form factor, with incredible potential – these two were made for each other! Sure, you may suggest the CPU greatly overpowers the GPU, but with productivity in mind (Video and Photo editing) over gaming, faster cores always win!
In light of the launch, I’ve seen countless RGB builds around social media, I couldn’t resist an opportunity to theme one of my favourites – a blackout Noctua airflow build. This time I opted for the stellar Lian-Li O11 Air Mini, a small chassis with huge airflow potential. Which is just as well because that 7950X certainly needs air!

Whilst I haven’t had an opportunity to fully test the AM5 chip for performance at this point, be assured that in upcoming video’s I’ll be including performance samples and temperature tests. Initial impressions are very positive indeed, though!
I’d also like to say that the Lian-Li O11 Air Mini chassis was an absolute pleasure to build inside of. This has rapidly become one of my favourite smaller form cases, with great reason! Highly recommended.
