Creating a Windows 11 VM in VMware Workstation Player 17 – Updated Method

The new VMware Workstation Pro and Player are now out and they have improved Windows 11 support. The new VM creation wizard will detect the OS in the ISO file and also allow you to add the TPM, encrypt the virtual machine and create an encryption password all in one step. You can even have Player remember the encryption password so you don’t have to type it in each time you open Player.

If you want to do a custom Windows 11 installation with an ISO that bypasses the TPM check then just choose I will install the operating system later and then you can mount your Win 11 ISO file so that way it doesn’t read it as Windows 11 and try to add a TPM and encryption.
