Migration from 2008 R2 server to 2016 DHCP
1. Prepare
– DC1 : Domain Controller ; IP 10.0.0.1
– DC2 : DHCP Server (OS Window Server 2008 R2) ; IP 10.0.0.2
– DC22 : Domain Member (OS Window Server 2016) ; IP 10.0.0.22
– WIN1091 : Client , get IP from DHCP server
2. Step by step : Migration DHCP server from DC2 server to DC22
– DC2 : Export configure DHCP Server
+ Check configure DHCP server
+ Start – Cmd – netsh dhcp server export c:dhcpbackup.txt all # Export configure into dhcpbackup.txt
– DC22 : Copy file dhcpbackup.txt from DC2. Right-Click Start – Run – \10.0.0.2C$ – Copy dhcpbackup.txt to C:
– DC2 : Shutdown
– DC22 : Install DHCP role and import file configure
+ Install DHCP Server role
+ Right-Click Start – Run – cmd – netsh dhcp server import c:dhcpbackup.txt all # Import configure from dhcpbackup.txt
+ Refresh DHCP server console – Appear Scope1, Scope2, Scope3 == OK
– WIN1091 : Test DHCP. Set IP receive dynamic = has gotten IP from DC22 == OK
