Cause they can, and people keep paying higher prices to have the latest and greatest computer hardware. However, despite the RTX 4080 having a 20% – 30% performance increase over its previous generation tier, the price makes it super unattractive. Especially when the RTX 4090 (when in stock) would be the better buy at that price range.
