Install Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0 in Linux Mint 16 (Ubuntu):
Steps for Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0 Installation:
1. Remove the LibreOffice :
sudo apt-get purge libreoffice*

2. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser, Go to openoffice.org

3. Download the tar.gz ( deb) file for 32 bit or 64 bit system.

4. Change the present working directory to extract the tar.gz file :
cd Downloads
tar -xvf filename.tar.gz

5. Next, run the commands below to begin installing it.
sudo dpkg -i en-US/DEBS/*.deb

6. Next, run the commands below to install the desktop-integration for .deb in Linux Mint 16
sudo dpkg -i en-US/DEBS/desktop-integration/*.deb

7. That’ it.
