What is CMAT?
Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a business aptitude test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses. The CMAT is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India. About 70,000 candidates appear for it every year. CMAT score is accepted by some of the top B-schools in India including Great Lakes Institute of Management, JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya Mumbai, Welingkar Mumbai and PUMBA. The CMAT question paper consists of 100 questions from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The total marks of CMAT is 400. CMAT is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and the duration of the exam is three hours.
Benefits of Appearing for CMAT
* CMAT is conducted at the end of MBA entrance exam season, so candidates don’t have to prepare much as the experience of exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP come in use.
* CMAT score is accepted by about 1,300 MBA colleges in India which includes some of the top colleges in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.
* CMAT exam is a moderate difficulty level exam so it is easy to crack.
* CMAT cut offs for admission to top colleges are not expectionally high, so you can get a good college with decent score.
* There’s no 50 per cent aggregate criteria for CMAT application, so any candidate with passing marks in graduation can appear for the exam.
* CMAT applicaton fee for women and reserved category candidates is only INR 1,000 which is quite less as compared to CAT, XAT, IIFT, SNAP fees.
CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2023
Before applying for the CMAT, candidates must ensure that they meet the following eligibility criteria:
* The aspirant must have completed graduation or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
* Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2023 but they will have to present the passing certificate at the time of admission.
* There is no minimum score percentage criteria in graduation for CMAT exam.
