Let us understand on relationship between Fedora, Centos Stream, RHEL, Rocky Linux!. Do you want to know CentOS Linux is Dead?. CentOS will no longer be downstream of RHEL as it was previously. CentOS will now be upstream of the next RHEL minor release. 1. CentOS 8 suddenly has its life cut short to the end of 2021 instead of the earlier projected date of May 2029.
2. Paid RHEL users will enjoy the well-tested stable server, community members will have no option other than using a not-so-stable rolling release distribution.
3. This will bring additional revenue to Red Hat.
4. CentOS Linux 7 will continue its lifecycle and will end in 2024.
5. Compatibility with third-party applications.
