This is to SharePoint, what that is to Dataverse (an open ASMR discussion)

Audrie Gordon shares thoughts around learning Dataverse, from the perspective of SharePoint users. Many of us who may have developed our solution-building habits in SharePoint would appreciate some pointers to how Dataverse handles certain expectations. It is helpful when learning something new, to make connections with what we already know; this is the spirit behind this hour-long discussion on ‘this is to SharePoint, what this is to Dataverse’. It represents her research into how the two SaaS products work and where some concepts overlap. Again, it is not intended to ‘compare’ the products, rather it’s to help SharePoint users understand the lingo and tools they’ll need in Dataverse.

This is a long discussion but treat it very ASMR-like and go ahead and fall asleep and watch the rest later. LOL

Enjoy!

P.S. Sync-ing Enterprise Terms: Many of you have extensive terms in SharePoint that don’t really fit into the model of a Global Choice list, and because you’re like to have an advanced search as you type effect. In that case, you can bring your SP terms into Dataverse, and use a lookup column for a snazzy way of leveraging them in your Dataverse solution forms. Let me know in the comments if you’d like a short video on how to do that pls.

P.S.S. Intro to Security: Here is the link to the video I mentioned that introduces the Dataverse Security Concepts (from the Dataverse Advent Calendar 2022):
