Inexpensive JUPLINK 2.5G Media Converter (SFP to 2.5GbE RJ45) – Unboxing & Overview

In this video, let’s take a look at the 2.5G Media Converter from JUPLINK. It has one SFP cage supporting 1.25G or 2.5G SFP module. On the other end, there is an RJ45 port, supports Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connection.
Opening the case, you will have access to the UART/TTL Serial headers. This will be useful to debug the SFP module, for example the Nokia G-010S-A or Huawei MA5671a SFP GPON module.
Recently, Gigabit (1000 Mbps) internet plan become popular and this media converter will be useful if you want to replace the ISP provided ONT/ONU with a SFP GPON module and 2.5G router.
