Cisco VLAN Routing – Cisco VLAN Configuration Step By Step Part 3 – Router On A Stick
In part 3 of our video series on the configuration of VLANs on a Cisco switch, we discuss Router On A Stick.
To communicate between separate VLANs you have to use a router. One way to do this is using what is called ‘Router On A Stick’. With router on a stick, you can take advantage of Cisco sub-interfaces to connect your router to two or more VLANs via one physical port on the router.
In this video we will walk you through configuring Router on a Stick to allow communication across the VLANs that were created during the earlier videos in the series.
In a later video, we will show you how to accomplish the same results as router-on-a-stick with a layer 3 switch instead of a router.
