STEAMDECK falling behind? CRAZY!

FUN FACT- This Video took me 9 hours and 46 minutes to make. If you enjoyed what you saw, do your brother a favor and smash buttons.

The steamdeck has been out for just shy over a year now and it’s safe to say that it has Pioneered portable gaming. But now that it’s a year old, it’s time to see what kind of limitations the steamdeck has. Overall, the steamdeck does its job and it’s hard to find someone who regrets buying it. To this exact date, almost every single game is playable and it’s powerful enough to run any game. However, when it comes to triple AAA titles, you may need to crank the settings to low and play with a 30fps limiter if you want to enjoy the games.

The competition is certainly heating up, with devices like the Ayaneo 2, GPD Win4 and Onexplayer Mini all having beefier processors and integrated graphics. The build quality on these devices is also impressive, with the Ayaneo going for an Apple design, the Onexplayer having the ‘im a gamer’ effect with the RGB on the sides and the GPD Win4 being sleek and robust. The competitors can also afford to have higher resolutions than the steamdeck, which has a 221 Pixels per inch, compared to your iphone or samsung smartphone which has 460 Pixels per inch. This can be an issue when playing games like Call of Duty Warzone, as it can be hard to see movement from a distance.

However, the biggest game changer for the steamdeck has to be the announcement of AMD’s new Radeon 780M integrated graphics, which is comparable to a GTX 1060 and uses AI. Competitors are racing to get this new chip in their devices and when they do, we’ll see devices even more powerful than the steamdeck.

So, is the steamdeck too outdated? The competitors may have better specs and build quality, but the steamdeck still offers a great value for money, as it plays the games good enough. Valve said that they don’t intend to make a new steamdeck with better performance, just a better screen and battery. But with the price tag of 399$, it’s hard to beat.
