Q4OS - A Fast and Friendly Debian Linux System With a Windows Installer

Q4OS is a linux system based on Debian stable that comes in two main variants – Plasma and Trinity.

It is designed to use minimal resources and it even offers a windows installer so that users can install the system in a folder on a windows NTFS partition – similar to the old Ubuntu Wubi from many years ago.

Apart from this feature, it can also be installed in the usual way. And what sets it apart from vanilla Debian is it’s user friendliness.

Want a different desktop? It’s a couple of clicks away. Want a desktop that automatically sets the right resolution? This seems to do it. Want to install non-free codecs? Again, just hit a button on the welcome screen.

This is the first time I’ve used this distro and I’ve come away with the impression that it is fast, stable and built to last – the current release is supported for years.
