GoldenEye and Perfect Dark on Steam Deck (1964 GEPD tutorial)
Tutorial to get GoldenEye and Perfect Dark running on the Steam Deck Gaming Mode thanks to an updated 1964 GEPD Bundle. Features a fully customized controller layout with gyro aim support, grip button shortcuts, and more.

Requirements:
– Pre-configured 1964 bundle: https://github.com/Graslu/1964GEPD/releases/tag/latest
– GoldenEye & Perfect Dark: Not here. Needs to be NTSC and preferably .z64 if you want mods to work.

The process to add mods on Steam is the same as the main games, for example if you want to install Goldfinger 64, the launch command would look like this:
1964 -g gf64.z64 -o 6 -f
I’ll share controller layouts for Goldfinger 64 and GoldenEye X shortly, remember those names must match so you can find them on Steam.

Extra information:
Other Proton versions such as GEProton may provide better performance, but I haven’t tested it enough to guarantee this. Same goes for setting a manual GPU clock to the maximum while playing, feel free to try by yourself and let me know!
There’s the possibility some people may get “Failed to change display mode” error – not to worry, as the fix is incredibly easy! Simply swipe the left trackpad down to open the Video Settings, click on Save & Close, then swipe the left trackpad to the right to go back to fullscreen mode. It should be working perfectly now!
