MariaDB Database Server Replication

MariaDB Database Server Replication

MariaDB Database Server Replication

This video tutorial is an introductory presentation of database replication from a primary server to a replica server. Replication is a simple but effective way to ensure zero latency backup of databases. For MariaDB, the configuration and usage is very simple.

The use of an infrastructure monitoring service, such as Nagios Core, to keep an eye on the replication is an optional exercise in this demonstration. Since I rely on it extensively (and do some nominal customization with it), I included an illustrative use of a simple Nagios Remote Plugin Execution script for your review. There are many other ways to rest peacefully with the full knowledge that your primary database server has syndicated its transactional data separately.
