A lot of newer developers get really scared when they learn that one of the best ways to get your foot in the door when interviewing is to have personal projects to talk about. This week I’m trying a small experiment of developing an iOS app from scratch with just 1 or 2 hours each day to show that with a bit of consistency you can start building up a portfolio without having to take on unbelievably complicated projects. Building small portfolio projects like that doesn’t have to be incredibly complicated, just build a couple small projects that are fairly diverse in what they required and you’ll eventually build a really interesting set of knowledge and skills that you can discuss in interviews.
