ChatGPT, a new AI chatbot, is on track to reach 100 million monthly active users (MAUs) by January 2023, according to UBS. This would make its adoption rate quicker than TikTok or Instagram. Its popularity has caught the attention of big tech companies, with Microsoft investing an additional $10 billion in the chatbot’s developer, OpenAI. UBS believes that the chatbot’s success has put Google in a difficult position and suggests that the total addressable market for ChatGPT could be worth $1 trillion. OpenAI recently launched a subscription service for ChatGPT called “ChatGPT Plus” starting at $20 a month.
