OpenAI, creators of chatGPT, just launched a work-in-progress model of AI software that can detect text generated using AI software across multiple platforms. As this is a work-in-progress model, this classifier is not fully reliable yet, but its reliability improves with the increase of the input text. This classifier is able to correctly identify AI-written text 26% of the time while incorrectly classifying human-written text as AI 9% of the time.
