Van Tech Corner : OpenWRT – x86 PC Installation – Live USB

OpenWRT - x86 PC Installation - Live USB

In this video, we are going to install OpenWRT on x86 hardware, aka PC, server or laptop. This will give you the best performance thanks to the powerful hardware the x86 (Intel/AMD) architecture offer.
The steps is simple: create a live USB, connect all the cables and powering on the PC (with USB plugged in, of course)
It had been explained in the video about the images format, just to summary:
– combined-ext4 image – the partion can be resized to a larger one, but factory reset & fail safe mode is not supported.
– combined-squashfs – the partion is only 230 MB, resize is impossible. Factory reset and fail safe mode is supported.
